Case IH 523357 - 02 - CSM – CSM: Cab suspension controller memory error
Issue description
The fault code indicates a memory or internal processing failure within the Cab Suspension Controller (CSM). FMI 02 designates erratic, intermittent, or incorrect data.
Applies to these machines
1 machine- MAGNUM AFS Connect
Check the cause
Connect the dealer Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to verify if the module is communicating on the CAN bus.
Attempt to run the 'Cab suspension calibration' via the EDT.
Verify the inputs from the cab suspension position sensor during calibration to ensure the memory error isn't being triggered by corrupted incoming sensor data.
Repair steps
Cycle Power / Reset
Switch OFF the ignition for at least 8 seconds in order to validate the calibration after any software reset or calibration attempt.
Module Replacement
If the EDT cannot clear the memory error or the module fails to hold its calibration parameters, the internal memory of the CSM has failed and the physical Cab Suspension Controller must be replaced.
Post-Repair Calibration
After installing a new CSM, use the EDT to perform the Cab Suspension Calibration so the new module can learn the suspension position sensor limits.
Parts you might need
