Case IH 523530 - 03 - CSM – CSM: Cab Suspension Spool Valve Current Low

Issue description

A 'current low' error on a spool valve or solenoid indicating an open circuit or a current draw that is below normal operating parameters. The control module is sending a signal to the cab suspension spool valve but is not detecting the expected electrical resistance or return current, often due to a disconnected plug, broken wire, or a failed internal coil.

Applies to these machines

  • MAGNUM AFS Connect
  • AFS Connect Magnum 180
  • AFS Connect Magnum 200
  • AFS Connect Magnum 220
  • AFS Connect Magnum 240
  • AFS Connect Magnum 250
  • AFS Connect Magnum 280
  • AFS Connect Magnum 310
  • AFS Connect Magnum 340
  • AFS Connect Magnum 380

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the cab suspension spool valve for any visible breaks, chafing, or damage.

  2. Check the electrical connector at the spool valve to ensure it is securely plugged in and that the pins are not corroded or pushed out.

  3. Test the circuit for continuity to verify there are no open circuits or shorts to ground.

Repair steps

  1. Repair or replace wiring and connectors

Repair or replace any damaged wiring or connectors found during the diagnostic checks.

  2. Replace spool valve coil

If the wiring and connectors are intact, the spool valve coil itself has likely failed electrically (open internal circuit) and must be replaced.
