Case IH 523530 - 05 - CSM – CSM: Cab suspension spool valve - Current Below Normal or Open Circuit
Issue description
The controller is detecting that the electrical current flowing through the cab suspension spool valve circuit is lower than the acceptable limit. This almost always indicates an open circuit, a disconnected plug, a broken wire in the harness, or a failed (open) internal coil within the spool valve solenoid itself.

Check the cause
Visually inspect the wiring harness leading to the cab suspension spool valve, especially in areas where it is clamped, routed near hot components, or subject to vibration.
Perform a wiggle test on the harness and connectors while monitoring the active diagnostic code to check for intermittent breaks or loose pins.
Disconnect the harness from the spool valve and the CSM. Check for continuity and ensure there are no open breaks in the two-wire harness back to the control module.
Measure the resistance across the pins of the cab suspension spool valve solenoid. If the multimeter reads infinite resistance (OL), the internal coil has failed.
Repair steps
Turn the machine's disconnect switch and key start switch to the OFF position to ensure the circuit is de-energized.
Locate the cab suspension spool valve assembly (typically mounted near the cab suspension linkages/cylinders).
Disconnect the electrical connector from the spool valve solenoid.
If the diagnostic checks (above) revealed a broken wire in the harness, repair the damaged section of the wire or replace the harness pigtail.
If the diagnostic checks revealed an open internal coil on the solenoid, remove the retaining nut/hardware holding the solenoid coil to the spool valve stem and slide the old coil off.
Install the replacement cab suspension spool valve/solenoid and secure the hardware.
Reconnect the electrical harness, ensuring the connector clicks and locks into place.
Power the machine on, clear the inactive fault codes from the CSM, and test the cab suspension for proper operation.
