Case IH 523785-00 - ICM – ICM: Display failure - TFT_LCD (display temperature too high)

The TFT LCD screen inside the instrument cluster has exceeded its maximum safe operating temperature limit, which can cause the display to malfunction, distort, or shut down to prevent further thermal damage.

   Assess cab climate and ambient temperature to see if the tractor has been sitting in direct, intense sunlight with the cab closed and HVAC off.

   Inspect the cab's Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) system, as proper cab climate control is essential for keeping the ICM cool.

   Check the instrument cluster bezel and console for any blocked ventilation slots or failed internal cooling fans.

   Verify the instrument cluster wire harness connections for any shorts or open circuits that might be causing false temperature sensor readings.

   Cool Down

   Cool down the cab environment using the tractor's A/C system or by moving the machine to a shaded area.

   Power Cycle

   Cycle the key power to see if the fault code clears once the display has cooled to a normal operating temperature.

   Hardware Replacement (If Permanent Failure)

   If the code persists after the unit has cooled, or if the display is physically damaged/blacked out from heat, the Instrument Cluster Module (ICM) has suffered permanent hardware failure and must be replaced.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the tractor's battery.

   Removal

   Remove the bezel, joystick panels, and mounting hardware securing the instrument cluster to the A-post or front console.

   Disconnect Harness

   Disconnect the instrument cluster wire harness from the back of the ICM.

   Installation

   Install the replacement ICM and reconnect the harness. Reassemble the console bezel.

   Calibration/Software

   Reconnect the battery. A dealer diagnostic tool (Case IH EST) will likely be required to perform a maintenance reset, calibrate the new display, or flash the correct software version to the new ICM.
