Case IH 55005 – Auxiliary Valve Controller (AUX), Armrest Controller, or Engine ECU: Measured 'Rear PVE -Command' voltage is out of range / Fuel HCI temperature sensor voltage is above/below the applicable range

The controller is detecting a voltage signal from the PVE actuator's internal spool position sensor (LVDT) that falls outside the expected 0.5V to 4.5V range, or the main supply voltage dropped outside the 11V-32V range. Alternatively, it can indicate the fuel HCI (Hydrocarbon Injector) temperature sensor voltage is out of range.

   Check System Voltage: Verify the power supply to the PVE actuator; Danfoss PVE actuators require a stable multi-voltage supply of 11V to 32V.

   Inspect the Wiring Harness: Check the connectors at the rear remote valve stack for damage, dirt buildup, corrosion, or bent pins.

   Measure Sensor Voltage: Back-probe the spool position sensor to ensure it is returning a voltage within the 0.5V to 4.5V range.

   Inspect the HCI fuel temperature sensor and its harness for shorts or open circuits (If diagnosing the Engine ECU 55005 code).

   Prepare tractor for service

   Park the tractor on a flat, hard surface, lower all implements to the ground to relieve hydraulic pressure, and turn off the engine.

   Locate valve stack

   Locate the rear hydraulic remote valve stack (PVG basic module) at the rear of the tractor.

   Disconnect actuator

   Disconnect the electrical connector to the affected Rear PVE actuator.

   Verify voltage and ground

   Use a multimeter to verify the supply voltage and check the ground connection on the harness side.

   Evaluate actuator failure

   If the wiring harness is intact and providing the correct voltage, but the 'out of range' fault persists, the PVE actuator or its internal LVDT sensor has failed and cannot be serviced separately.

   Remove actuator

   Remove the mounting bolts securing the PVE actuator to the valve block.

   Install replacement actuator

   Install the replacement PVE actuator. You must use new O-rings/seals to prevent pilot oil leaks, as reduced pilot oil pressure will limit spool control.

   Reconnect harness

   Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Calibrate remotes

   Turn on the tractor, clear the fault codes, and perform a calibration cycle for the hydraulic remotes via the cab display (Pro 700 / AFS display) to prevent false errors and relearn the sensor limits.
