Case IH 56002 – Transmission Controller: The Transmission Controller Calibration Procedure Must Be Performed.

During startup, the transmission controller runs a self-test. This code is logged if the system detects that the pedal, valve, or load defaults have not been calibrated, or if it detects an internal memory failure.

   Check for Recent Service: Determine if a new transmission controller was recently installed.

   Retrieve and Clear Codes: Retrieve, record, and clear any other active fault codes in the system before calibration.

   Check Inching Pedal: Verify that the inching pedal is reading within a valid range on the display.

   Inspect for Memory Failure: If the calibration procedure is completed successfully but the 56002 code immediately returns upon restarting the tractor, the controller has suffered an internal memory failure and must be replaced.

   Start tractor

   Start the tractor and ensure it is safely parked.

   Access setup menu

   Access the Trans Setup Menu on the instrumentation display.

   Clear existing codes

   Retrieve, record, and clear any existing fault codes.

   Initiate calibration

   Initiate the transmission calibration sequence. The system will prompt you to calibrate the inching pedal, transmission valves, and load defaults.

   Complete valve fill

   Allow the automated valve fill process to complete. When the fill process is finished, the display will indicate the status of the valves.

   Return to setup menu

   Press the PROG key to return to the TRANS SETUP menu.

   Navigate to exit menu

   Press the DECR key to navigate to the TRANS EXIT menu.

   Exit calibration

   Press the PROG key to exit the transmission calibration.

   Restart and verify

   Restart the tractor to allow the controller to run its startup self-test. Verify that fault code 56002 does not return.
