Case IH 56040 – Transmission Controller (TRANS): 5F Valve Coil circuit is open or shorted to ground when valve is ON.

This code indicates that the 5F clutch solenoid coil has been commanded ON, but the voltage on the low side of the coil (or the current draw measured by the controller) is lower than expected. This means the circuit is either open, shorted to ground, or has lost its power supply.

   Repair Wiring or Replace Solenoid

   If the wiring harness is damaged, repair the broken wire or short to ground. If the wiring is intact but the solenoid fails the resistance test (or fails intermittently when at operating temperature), replace the 5F clutch solenoid.
