Case IH 56052 – Transmission Controller (TRANS): System Pressure Valve Coil circuit is open or shorted to ground when valve is OFF

The system pressure valve solenoid coil is commanded off, but the voltage on the low side of the coil is lower than expected. This indicates that the circuit is open, shorted to ground, or has lost its power supply.

   Visually inspect the wiring harness running from the transmission controller to the system pressure solenoid for chafing, breaks, or corrosion.

   Check the resistance of the system pressure valve solenoid coil with a multimeter to see if it has failed open. Compare the reading to the specifications in your specific model's service manual.

   Test the wire between the system pressure solenoid and the transmission controller to ensure it is not shorted to ground or suffering from an open circuit.

   Verify that power is available from the neutral latch relay. An open circuit in the solenoid power wire will also trigger this code.

   Note if the problem only occurs when the tractor is at operating temperature. If the fault is temperature-sensitive, it is highly likely that the solenoid coil is starting to fail internally.

   Retrieve and Clear Codes

   Retrieve and record all active fault codes, then clear them to see if 56052 returns immediately.

   Inspect and Repair Wiring

   Based on the diagnostic checks, repair any damaged wires between the transmission controller, the neutral latch relay, and the solenoid.

   Replace the Solenoid Coil

   If the wiring and power supply are intact, but the solenoid coil fails the resistance test (or fails when hot), the system pressure valve solenoid coil must be replaced.

   Recalibrate

   After replacing transmission valve components, you may need to enter the 'Trans Setup Menu' on the display and perform a transmission valve calibration.
