Case IH 56093 – Transmission Controller (TRANS): System Pressure is Out of Range High
Issue description
Occurs when the transmission system pressure in the regulator valve exceeds 2413 kPa (350 PSI), or if there is a failure in the pressure sensing circuit that lasts for more than one second.
Applies to these machines
6 machines- STX Steiger
- Puma series
- Steiger series
- Quadtrac series
- Magnum series
- MX series
Check the cause
View the system hydraulic pressure in the instrumentation controller display to determine if the sensor is reading correctly
Verify that the system pressure solenoid core moves freely inside the valve
Verify that the system pressure valve spool moves freely in the bore
Repair steps
Check the Display
Access the instrumentation controller display to check the live system hydraulic pressure reading.
Replace Sensor
If the actual hydraulic pressure is correct but the system is throwing the code, the transmission pressure sensor has failed. Replace the pressure sensor.
Calibrate
After replacing the sensor, you must perform the 'Trans Setup, Cal Pressure' menu procedure in the instrumentation controller to calibrate the new sensor.
Inspect Valve Components
If the sensor and wiring are functioning properly, the issue is likely hydraulic. Remove the system pressure valve spool and spring.
Clean/Deburr
Inspect both the spool and the spring for any damage or burrs. Inspect the bore for burrs or damage. Clean or replace the valve components so that the spool moves freely.
