Issue description
The controller monitoring the rear differential lock control solenoid has detected a voltage on the circuit that is higher than the expected normal operating range, typically indicating a short circuit to a high voltage source, an open circuit, or a damaged solenoid coil.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness from the rear differential lock solenoid back to the controller for rubbed-through insulation shorting to a 12V source.
Disconnect the harness at the solenoid and inspect connector pins for damage, bent pins, corrosion, or moisture.
Use a multimeter to measure the resistance of the solenoid coil (a healthy 12V DC coil typically measures around 7.3 Ohms).
Verify via the CAN-BUS diagnostic monitor (e.g., Pro 1200) that the rear differential lock switch in the armrest is functioning and communicating properly.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes or accidental short circuits during repair.
Locate the Solenoid
Locate the rear differential lock control valve block, typically mounted on the rear axle housing or transmission valve body.
Remove the Faulty Solenoid
Disconnect the electrical connector from the solenoid, clean the area around the valve, remove the retaining nut or bolts, and slide the solenoid coil off the valve cartridge. (If replacing the entire cartridge valve, relieve hydraulic pressure first).
Install the New Solenoid
Slide the new solenoid coil onto the valve stem and secure it with the retaining hardware, ensuring any O-rings are properly seated.
Reconnect and Test
Reconnect the wiring harness connector and the battery. Use the tractor's diagnostic monitor (e.g., AFS Pro 1200) to clear inactive fault codes, start the tractor, and engage the rear differential lock to verify proper operation.
