Case IH 6007 – TCU (Transmission Control Unit) or Armrest Controller (ARM): Both MFD and Auto MFD switches are active

Indicates an illogical state where both MFD (Mechanical Front Drive) and Auto MFD switches are active simultaneously. The system cannot process a command to be in manual MFD override and Automatic MFD mode at the exact same time, usually pointing to a short circuit in the switch itself, a wiring harness short, or a communication error on the CAN-BUS network.

   Inspect the MFD switch on the armrest console to check if the rocker switch or buttons are physically stuck, jammed by debris, or broken.

   Turn the key to the ON position and navigate to the tractor's diagnostic monitor to view the active state of the MFD switch inputs. Check if both the MFD icon and Auto MFD icon are displayed simultaneously.

   Access the wiring beneath the armrest switch and inspect the connector for bent pins, corrosion, or loose wires.

   Unplug the MFD switch and use a multimeter to test the switch contacts for continuity. If both manual and auto circuits are closed regardless of switch position, the switch has failed internally.

   Check the CAN-BUS wiring harness between the Armrest Controller and the TCU for a short to voltage or ground.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

   Access the Switch

   Remove the retaining screws or pry the bezel on the armrest control console to access the underside of the switch panel.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical pigtail connector from the faulty MFD switch.

   Remove and Replace

   Depress the retaining tabs on the sides of the MFD switch to pop it out of the console panel. Snap the new OEM replacement switch into place.

   Reassemble

   Reconnect the electrical connector, ensuring it clicks securely. Reinstall the armrest console cover.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the key ON and use the tractor's diagnostic display (or a dealer service tool) to clear the stored 6007 fault code.

   Operational Test

   Start the tractor and toggle between MFD OFF, MFD ON, and Auto MFD. Verify that the correct icons illuminate on the dash and that the fault code does not return.
