Case IH 6010 – Tractor Control Unit (TCU): 12VS1 voltage supply is low. (possible blown fuse*)
Issue description
This code indicates that the voltage supplied to the 12VS1 power rail has dropped below the minimum acceptable threshold. The system explicitly flags a blown fuse as the most common primary cause. It can also be triggered by a faulty battery, charging system issues, or a cold starting condition.
Applies to these machines
5 machines- Magnum
- Steiger T4B
- Case IH Magnum Series: 235-340 (Series 4), 250, 280, 310, 380
- Case IH Steiger / STX Steiger Series: 350, 400, 450, 500, 550, 600
- Case IH Puma Series: 150, 165, 175, 180
Check the cause
Check if any other low voltage supply error codes are being displayed to troubleshoot the broader electrical system first.
Clear the error code using the Electronic Service Tool (EST) and retest, as this code can be induced during cold starting.
Locate and inspect the fuse for the 12VS1 circuit in the cab fuse/relay module to verify if it is blown.
Ensure the battery and charging system are functioning correctly and that the display battery voltage reads between 12 and 14 Volts.
Check all Tractor Control Unit (TCU) connectors to ensure they are fully connected, undamaged, and tight.
Repair steps
Replace Fuse
If the 12VS1 fuse is blown, replace it with a fuse of the exact same amperage rating. Resume field operation and monitor to see if the fault code returns.
Repair Wiring Harness
If the fuse is intact but voltage is still low at the module, test the wiring harness for an open circuit or short to ground between the power supply and the TCU. Repair or replace the damaged harness sections as required.
Replace the TCU
If the fuses are good, the wiring harness has continuity, and the connectors are tight, the Tractor Control Unit (TCU) has likely suffered an internal failure. Replace the TCU.
Software Configuration
If the TCU is replaced, you must use the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to download the correct level of software and configure the new module to the tractor.
