Case IH 6011 – MFD / Diff Lock (Mechanical Front Drive / Differential Lock): 12VS2 voltage supply is low. (possible blown fuse*)

The system logs this code when it detects a voltage drop or a complete loss of 12-volt power on the secondary supply circuit (12VS2). While commonly referred to as a "Fuse Sense Error," the root condition is a lack of voltage reaching the controller, which is almost always caused by a blown fuse resulting from a short circuit.

   Locate the tractor's fuse box and identify the specific fuse assigned to the 12VS2 / MFD / Diff Lock circuit to check if it is blown.

   Use a multimeter to verify if 12V power is reaching the fuse block, and subsequently, check the voltage at the MFD/Diff Lock controller pins.

   If the fuse is blown, inspect the wiring harness routing down to the MFD and Differential Lock solenoids for chafing, pinched wires, or bare insulation rubbing against the tractor chassis (most common cause).

   Ohm out the MFD and Diff Lock solenoids to ensure they have not internally shorted.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery ground cable to ensure safety while working on the electrical system.

   Trace and Repair Wiring

   If a short to ground was found during the diagnostic phase (e.g., a rubbed wire near the front axle or transmission housing), cut out the damaged section of the wire.

   Splice

   Splice in a new section of wire using weather-resistant butt connectors and seal it with heat-shrink tubing to prevent moisture ingress.

   Replace the Fuse

   Install a new blade fuse of the exact same amperage rating into the 12VS2 slot in the fuse panel. Never install a higher-amperage fuse to bypass a short.

   Test

   Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and engage/disengage the MFD and Differential Lock.

   Clear Codes

   Verify that the components actuate properly and use a diagnostic tool (or the tractor's onboard display) to clear the inactive 6011 fault code.
