Applies to these machines

Check the cause
Check the 5-amp fuse in the main fuse panel (often located in the right-side cab 'B' post) that supplies power to the FWD circuit.
Inspect the FWD switch on the dashboard or armrest for physical damage, sticking, or failure to click into position.
Access the back of the switch and inspect the 8-way electrical connector for loose pins, corrosion, or broken wires.
Use a multimeter to test the switch continuity. Verify that the switch correctly opens and closes the circuit when toggled.
Ensure the issue is isolated to the switch and not the FWD solenoid itself (solenoid-specific failures usually trigger related codes like 6021, 6022, or 6023).
Repair steps
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Carefully pry up or unscrew the trim panel / armrest console cover where the FWD switch is mounted to gain access to the rear of the switch.
Disconnect the 8-way electrical connector from the back of the FWD switch.
Depress the plastic retaining tabs on the sides of the switch body and push it upward/outward from the mounting panel.
Insert the new FWD switch into the panel cutout until the retaining tabs click securely into place.
Reconnect the electrical connector to the new switch.
Reinstall the trim panel or armrest console cover.
Reconnect the battery and turn on the tractor.
Engage and disengage the FWD system to ensure proper operation and verify that the 6020 fault code has cleared from the display.
