Case IH 603-02 - UCM – UCM: Low voltage in the right circuit of the top of the brake switch

Issue description

Indicates an electrical issue with the brake switch circuit, specifically a low voltage condition in the right circuit of the top of the brake switch.

Applies to these machines

  • MAGNUM AFS Connect

Check the cause

  1. Verify the voltage at the brake switch to confirm the low voltage condition

  2. Inspect the wiring harness connecting the brake switch to the UCM for any short circuits to ground (B-) or broken wires

  3. Inspect the park/brake switch for shorted or corroded contacts

Repair steps

  1. Access the brake switch located on the brake pedal assembly.

  2. Disconnect the wiring harness and use a multimeter to test the switch for continuity when the pedal is depressed and released.

  3. Trace the wiring from the switch back to the UCM to locate and repair any shorts or breaks in the circuit.

  4. Replace the brake switch if it fails the continuity test.

  5. Clear the UCM fault codes and retest the tractor to ensure the code does not return.
