Case IH 627-01 - VCM – Engine Control Unit (ECU): All injector currents are out of specification

The injector pull-in current is too low or the injector hold-in current is incorrect.

   Verify overall battery voltage to ensure the ECU is receiving adequate power (low voltage can trigger secondary codes like 627-18)

   Inspect the engine wiring harness and injector wiring for signs of electrical noise, shorts, or open circuits

   Check the ECU connectors for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins

   Turn off key switch

   Turn off the machine's key switch.

   Disconnect ECU connectors

   Disconnect the connectors from the Engine Control Unit (ECU).

   Wait for controller reset

   Wait for at least 30 seconds to allow the controller to reset and exit the initialization block program.

   Reconnect ECU connectors

   Reconnect the ECU connectors securely.

   Test injector currents

   Test the injector pull-in and hold-in currents using a multimeter to ensure they meet OEM specifications.

   Isolate faulty components

   If the wiring is intact but currents remain out of specification, isolate the faulty fuel injector(s) or replace the damaged section of the engine wiring harness.
