Case IH 628-25 - ACM – ACM: Armrest controller application software disagreement

Indicates a software version mismatch or conflict within the machine's Controller Area Network (CAN). This typically occurs when the software flashed to the armrest controller does not match the expected version or is incompatible with the software running on the master vehicle controller or other networked modules.

   Verify that the ACM is communicating properly on the CAN bus (e.g., checking for related communication codes like 1012: 'No communication with the ACM')

   Use the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to read the current software version of the ACM and compare it against the software versions of the Tractor Controller Unit (TCU) and other modules

   Determine if any modules (especially the ACM or TCU) were recently replaced or flashed with new software, which is the most common trigger for a software disagreement

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Navigate to programming

   Navigate to the programming/flashing section of the EST.

   Download software

   Download the latest compatible software package for the specific tractor serial number.

   Reflash modules

   Reflash the ACM (and potentially the TCU or other conflicting modules) so that all controllers are running on the same, compatible software baseline.

   Verify repair

   Cycle the key power and clear the fault codes to verify the 628-25 code does not return.
