Case IH 630-14 - ACM – ACM (Armrest Control Module): Incorrect armrest controller configuration
Issue description
The software parameterization within the Armrest Control Module does not match the physical hardware installed on the tractor (e.g., the number of electro-hydraulic remote [EHR] levers, the presence of a joystick, or the specific transmission type). It can also trigger if the module loses its memory or if an uncalibrated replacement module is installed.

Check the cause
Verify Physical Hardware: Inspect the armrest to confirm the exact configuration of the tractor (e.g., does it have 4, 5, or 6 EHR levers? Does it have a Multi-Function Handle (MFH) joystick? Is it a CVT or Powershift?).
Check for Related Codes: Look for accompanying codes that might indicate a hardware failure rather than a configuration issue, such as 2818 (Loss of communication with the ACM), 18061 / 18062 (Reference voltage short circuits), or 18063 (EEPROM fault).
Check Voltages: Use a diagnostic tool to monitor the live voltage readings of the EHR levers and MFH encoder positions. If they read out of bounds, the ACM may just need calibration rather than replacement.
Repair steps
Connect Diagnostic Tool
Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) or a compatible heavy-duty diagnostic tool (like Jaltest) to the tractor's diagnostic port.
Access ACM Parameters
Navigate to the ACM (Armrest Control Module) -> 'Parameters' or 'Advanced Configuration'.
Reconfigure the ACM
Manually set the parameters to match the tractor's build. Verify and set values for throttle positions (Config B/b 1.0, 1.1, 1.4), transmission type (CVT mode switch vs. Powershift), MFH (Multi-Function Handle) switch configurations, and the number of EHR levers installed.
Perform Calibration
Once configured, run the calibration procedure for the armrest components. This forces the ACM to learn the minimum and maximum voltage values for the joysticks, EHR levers, and potentiometers.
Clear and Test
Clear the fault codes, cycle the key, and operate the armrest controls to ensure the code 630-14 does not return.
Module Replacement
If the EST cannot communicate with the ACM, or if the module refuses to save the configuration (often accompanied by EEPROM fault 18063), the ACM must be replaced and the new module programmed.
