702-02 - ACM

Case IH 702-02 - ACM – ACM: Configurable switch 2 circuit fault

Issue description

Indicates an electrical circuit malfunction associated with a switch designated as 'Configurable switch 2'. The control module is detecting an electrical anomaly such as an open circuit, a short to ground, or a short to power on that specific switch's input circuit.

Applies to these machines

  • MAGNUM AFS Connect
  • Magnum Series (e.g., AFS Connect Magnum 180-380)
  • Puma Series
  • Steiger Series
  • Farmall Series (V/N/F/CL)

Check the cause

  1. Locate which physical switch on the armrest is assigned as 'Configurable switch 2' (often used for ISOBUS or auxiliary hydraulic functions).

  2. Use a diagnostic tool (like the Case IH EST or Jaltest) to monitor the ACM 'Measure Values' and see if the switch state changes when toggled.

  3. Inspect the wiring harness between the switch and the ACM for chafing, pinched wires, or disconnected pins.

  4. Check the ACM connectors (e.g., 34-cavity female connectors) for corrosion or backed-out pins.

Repair steps

  1. Replace switch

    Replace the faulty switch.

  2. Repair wiring

Repair the damaged wiring harness section.

  3. Replace ACM

Replace the ACM if the internal circuit board has failed.
