Case IH 7024 – Instrumentation Controller (INST) or Auto Guidance / NAV Controller: Steering angle sensor not calibrated
Issue description
The steering angle sensor monitors the rotational position of the front steering axle and transmits real-time position data to the auto-guidance system. When this code is active, the controller has lost the zero-point or end-stop calibration values for the front axle, which disables Auto Guidance / Auto Steer and can affect electronic stability systems.

Check the cause
Verify that the steering angle sensor (located on the front steering axle/kingpin) is physically intact.
Inspect the sensor's mechanical linkage and rods for bending, damage, or excessive play.
Check the wiring harness and connector at the sensor for corrosion, moisture, or broken wires.
Look for associated out-of-range fault codes (such as 7031 'Steering angle sensor out of Maximum range' or 7032 'Steering angle sensor out of Minimum range'). If these codes are present, the sensor is likely defective rather than just uncalibrated.
