Case IH 7040-12 - DEC – DEC (Driveline Electronic Control): DEC dump input interlock bad intelligent device or component

The Driveline Electronic Control module has suffered an internal hardware or memory failure on the circuit responsible for monitoring the transmission dump interlock.

• Case IH / New Holland wheel loaders
• Case IH / New Holland telehandlers

   Cycle power by switching the ignition off, waiting for the ECU to power down completely, and switching it back on to see if the code clears.

   Verify that the DEC module is receiving proper voltage, as internal voltage supply circuit failures can trigger this code.

   Inspect the brake pedal latch switch or clutch disconnect button for physical damage or short circuits that could have sent a damaging voltage spike to the DEC module.

   Check if there is a software update available for the DEC module (e.g., version 1.3.0.0).

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect the machine's negative battery terminal.

   Locate DEC module

   Locate the Driveline Electronic Control (DEC) module (typically located in the cab console or under the armrest control center).

   Disconnect and inspect wiring

   Carefully disconnect the wiring harnesses from the DEC module, inspecting the pins for corrosion or burning.

   Remove faulty module

   Remove the mounting hardware and extract the faulty DEC module.

   Install new module

   Install the new DEC module and secure the mounting hardware.

   Reconnect wiring and battery

   Reconnect the wiring harnesses and the battery.

   Flash software and calibrate

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to flash the correct software payload (e.g., software part number 51685729 or 51635992 depending on the transmission) and calibrate the driveline/transmission dump interlocks.
