Case IH 706-02 - ACM – ACM: Configurable switch 6 circuit fault
Issue description
The controller is detecting a voltage or resistance that is out of the expected range on the circuit assigned to Configurable switch 6, which usually points to an open circuit, a short to ground, a short to power, or a failed switch mechanism.
Applies to these machines
3 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- Case IH Magnum Tractors (Models 180, 200, 220, 240, and 235-340 Series 4)
- Case IH Steiger Tractors (STX Steiger models 350 to 600 horsepower)
Check the cause
Verify Module Communication: Ensure the ACM is communicating properly with the network (related codes like 1012 or 1013 indicate a total loss of communication with the ACM)
Inspect the Switch: Identify which physical switch on the armrest is mapped as Configurable switch 6
Circuit Testing: Test the wiring harness between the switch and the ACM for continuity, shorts to ground, or shorts to power
Repair steps
Disconnect battery
Disconnect battery power.
Disassemble console
Disassemble the armrest console to access the ACM and switch wiring.
Repair or replace
Replace the faulty switch or repair the damaged section of the wiring harness.
Reassemble and recalibrate
Reassemble the console, restore power, and use the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to clear the fault code and recalibrate the armrest controls if necessary.
Parts you might need
(1)Armrest Configurable Switch / ACM Switch Assembly
Parts will vary heavily depending on whether the machine is a Magnum or Steiger, and the specific trim level of the armrest (e.g., CVT transmission vs. standard).
