Case IH 708-14 - ACM – ACM: Throttle keypad configuration

Issue description

Indicates a configuration mismatch, calibration failure, or communication error between the throttle input controls (keypad/potentiometer) and the control module.

Check the cause

  1. Check ACM communication with the instrumentation controller (ICU) to ensure no loss of communication.

  2. Inspect wiring and connectors between the throttle keypad/potentiometer and the ACM for damage, correct pin position, and tight fit.

  3. Test the circuit for continuity, open circuits, or short circuits to the battery (+BAT).

  4. Use the electronic service tool (EST) to monitor the throttle position sensor voltage and verify it matches the physical position of the throttle.

Repair steps

  1. Replace wiring harness

    Replace the damaged wiring harness if applicable.

  2. Replace throttle assembly

    Replace the throttle switch/knob assembly if faulty.

  3. Replace and reprogram ACM

    Replace and reprogram the ACM if the module itself has failed.
