Case IH 7100 – Steering Controller / Navigation Controller: Autoguidance isolation solenoid - disconnected / over temperature

This code indicates a circuit failure related to the steering isolation solenoid used in the automatic guidance (AFS AccuGuide) system. The controller has detected that the circuit is either open (disconnected/broken wire) or drawing excessive current causing an over-temperature condition (internal short in the solenoid coil).

   Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector at the autoguidance isolation solenoid (located on the steering valve block) for corrosion, backed-out pins, or physical damage.

   Disconnect the solenoid and check the harness for continuity back to the Steering Controller to rule out a broken wire (which would trigger the disconnected condition).

   Measure the resistance across the pins of the isolation solenoid coil using a multimeter. An infinite reading indicates an open internal circuit (disconnected), while a reading near zero indicates a dead short (which causes the "over-temperature" condition).

   Verify that the steering controller is sending the correct voltage to the solenoid when the autoguidance system is engaged.

   Turn off the tractor, apply the parking brake, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

   Locate the autoguidance steering valve block

   (location varies by model, but is typically mounted under the cab or near the front axle steering cylinders).
