Case IH 73 – Transmission Controller (TRANS): Software is out of the calibration mode and the park brake request is still active.

The system has exited its calibration routine, but the controller is still receiving or processing an active command to engage the park brake. Official OEM documentation explicitly states this indicates a bug in the software.

   Check if the code is active or stored to determine if it is a ghost code from a single calibration attempt.

   Verify the physical park brake switch and shuttle lever are not stuck, shorted, or physically damaged, which could send a continuous park request.

   Check the current software version of the Transmission Controller using the Electronic Service Tool (EST).

   Clear the Code

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) and clear the stored fault code.

   Recalibrate

   Re-attempt the transmission and park brake calibration procedure. Ensure the tractor is on level ground and the transmission oil is at the proper operating temperature (above 122°F / 50°C).

   Update Software

   If the code immediately returns or prevents calibration, the Transmission Controller must be flashed with a software update. A dealer tech must install the latest transmission firmware patch.

   Final Calibration

   Once the software is updated, perform a final transmission and park brake calibration using the EST.
