Case IH 758 – Engine Controller (ENG): Rear Bank injector is bad

Indicates an electrical or mechanical malfunction associated with the fuel injector(s) located on the rear bank of the engine.

   Obtain the OEM Injector Breakout Harness (Part # 380002409).

   Connect the Injector Signal Test Lights (Part # 380500022) in conjunction with the breakout harness.

   Monitor the electronic injector signal from the processor to verify if the injector is receiving the correct voltage and ground.

   If the test lights indicate a proper signal is being sent but the fault persists, the injector itself is confirmed bad and requires replacement.

   Run the electronic signal test

   Use the breakout harness and test lights as described in the diagnostic checks to isolate the rear bank injector.

   Access the fuel system

   Once the faulty rear bank injector is identified, remove the necessary engine components (lines/covers) to access the 8.3L/9.0L fuel system.

   Remove the defective injector

   Extract the faulty injector from the rear bank.

   Install the new replacement injector

   Ensure that all new installation seals (which are included with new OEM Bosch injectors) are properly seated to prevent leaks.

   Reassemble and clear codes

   Reassemble the fuel system and clear the active ENG 758 fault code from the Engine Controller.
