Case IH 9005 – IC (Instrument Cluster) / ADIC (Advanced Display Instrument Cluster): Memory Error - Triple Redundant - Hour Meter Location 2 Corrupt

Indicates an EEPROM checksum failure for the machine's hour meter at memory location 2. The data in the second location has become corrupted or cannot be read properly.

   Monitor frequency to determine if the error is a one-time glitch or a permanent/repeating fault

   Perform a key cycle to see if the active fault code self-clears from the CAN system

   Use a dealer service tool (EST) to reset the code and check if the memory corruption was a temporary voltage anomaly

   Check for accompanying codes 9004 (Location 1 Corrupt) or 9006 (Location 3 Corrupt), which together indicate a total memory failure

   Monitor error status

   If the error clears and does not return, no further action is required.

   Assess memory chip failure

   If the error is permanent or repeats often, the internal memory chip is physically failing.

   Replace Instrument Cluster

   Replace the Instrument Cluster assembly. The internal EEPROM is not serviceable separately.

   Program new cluster

   After installing a new instrument cluster, perform dealer programming using the CNH Electronic Service Tool to sync the CAN-bus and restore the correct machine hours from the remaining uncorrupted redundant memory locations.
