Case IH 9009 – AUX (Auxiliary / Remote Valve) Controller: Controller Memory Error -- Loss of valve constants

This fault indicates that the controller has lost the saved calibration data (constants/offsets) for the auxiliary (remote) hydraulic valves. This can happen due to a corrupted memory chip, a failed calibration procedure, or a voltage anomaly that wiped the stored parameters.

   Cycle Power: Turn the tractor off, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on to see if the memory error was a temporary voltage glitch.

   Check Armrest Levers: Ensure the remote valve levers/switches in the armrest are physically returning to the neutral position. A failing potentiometer can prevent the system from reading the correct position.

   Inspect Wiring: Check the wiring harness from the armrest controls to the AUX controller, and from the controller to the remote valves, looking for shorts or open circuits.

   Check for Companion Codes: Look for related codes (e.g., AUX 9019 'Loss of operator adjustment data' or AUX 9029 'Loss of valve calibration data') which confirm a total memory wipe of the auxiliary system.

   Recalibrate the remote valves

   Access the tractor's calibration menu (often via the A-post display by holding the PROG key while turning the ignition to ON). Navigate to the ARM or AUX section. Follow on-screen prompts to cycle the affected remote levers through their full range of motion (pull back to Raise/Extend, push forward to Lower/Retract, push fully forward to Float, then back to Neutral). Note: MX Series may require calibration tool CAS2806 plugged into the test port. Turn off the key and wait 30 seconds before restarting to save constants.

   Replace failing potentiometers

   If the calibration process hangs (e.g., the system thinks the lever is in the 'lower' position when it is physically in neutral), the potentiometer inside the armrest lever has failed and must be replaced.

   Replace or reprogram the AUX controller

   If the valves calibrate successfully but the 9009 code returns immediately after a power cycle, the EEPROM/memory chip inside the AUX controller has physically failed. The controller will need to be replaced or reflashed by a dealer using the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST).
