Case IH 9011 - UCM – UCM: Front hitch not moving (when Front Hitch Management is enabled)
Issue description
The control module is commanding the front hitch to move, but it is either not detecting any physical movement from the hitch position sensor, or the calibration data for the hitch position has been lost from the controller's memory.

Check the cause
Verify System Configuration: The UCM automatically detects if the vehicle is fitted with Electronic Draft Control (EDC) and a front hitch. If a new UCM was recently installed, an automatic detection procedure takes place. Ensure the Front Hitch Management option is correctly enabled or disabled in the system settings.
Check the H-Menu: Connect the Case IH diagnostic connector tool to access the 'H' menu on the instrument cluster. Verify the EDC system state (H8 menu).
Inspect the Position Sensor: Check the front hitch position sensor (potentiometer) and its wiring harness for physical damage, corrosion, or disconnected plugs, as the UCM relies on this sensor to verify movement.
Check Hydraulic Flow: Ensure there are no mechanical bindings in the front hitch linkage and that hydraulic pressure is reaching the front hitch cylinders.
Repair steps
Access Diagnostics
Plug the Case IH special diagnostic tool (Part # 380000843) into the tractor's diagnostic connector. The main diagnostics connector is typically located in the cab on the right-hand side rear pillar behind the operator's seat.
Initialize H-Menu
Turn the key start switch to the ON position. The ADIC (Advanced Data Instrument Cluster) will automatically build a list of the controllers connected on the CAN bus and store it in the EEPROM. The dot matrix display will show 'HH MENU'.
Navigate to Calibration
Use the 'up', 'down', and 'menu' keys on the ICU to navigate the HH menus to the EDC/UCM controller settings.
Perform Calibration
Initiate the front hitch position command calibration. Follow the on-screen prompts to set the upper and lower limits of the front hitch.
Clear Codes
Once calibration is successfully saved to the controller's memory, depress and hold the 'm' button to confirm the resetting of the EEPROM. The display should show 'donE'. Turn the key off and back on to verify the 9011 code has cleared.
Replace Components (if calibration fails)
If the hitch still does not move or calibrate, test the position sensor voltage. If the sensor is faulty, replace it. If the sensor and hydraulics are fine but the UCM will not retain memory, the UCM must be replaced and flashed with the correct software.
