Case IH 9013 – ARM (Armrest Controller): Controller Memory Error - Loss of Throttle Calibrations
Issue description
The Armrest Controller has lost the stored calibration values for the hand throttle or joystick. Because the controller's memory has lost these parameters, the system cannot accurately determine the physical position of the throttle lever, which can result in a loss of throttle control or default idle states.
Applies to these machines
13 machines- STX Steiger
- MX Magnum Series
- MX210
- MX230
- MX255
- MX285
- STX Steiger Series
- STX 280
- STX 325
- STX 450
- STX 530
- Puma Series
- TG Series
Check the cause
Check Power and Ground: Verify that the Armrest Controller is receiving consistent power. Check the main harness connection (specifically connection C137 to the battery) and ensure the controller is properly grounded.
Inspect the Throttle Potentiometer: Check the hand throttle lever and its internal potentiometer for physical damage, binding, or dead spots in its electrical resistance.
Attempt Recalibration: Attempt to recalibrate the throttle to see if the controller will accept and hold the new values.
Repair steps
Secure Connections
Clean and tighten the battery terminals, cab ground straps, and the main harness connectors leading to the Armrest Controller to rule out intermittent power loss.
Access the Setup Menu
Turn the key to the ON position. Using the instrumentation controller (such as the Pro 700 display or the A-post monitor), navigate to the Armrest Setup Menu (ARM SET MENU).
Perform Calibration
Select the throttle configuration option (ARM THROTTLE). Follow the on-screen prompts to move the hand throttle through its full range of motion (minimum to maximum) to teach the controller the new values.
Clear the Code
Once calibration is complete, clear the fault code 9013 from the system.
Test for Memory Retention
Turn the tractor off, wait for the modules to power down completely, and turn the key back on. If fault code 9013 returns immediately, the Armrest Controller's internal memory is defective and the controller must be replaced.
