Case IH 9031 – ARM (Armrest Controller): Hand throttle potentiometer calibration results not acceptable

This code indicates that during the calibration of the hand throttle, the controller detected that the high idle or low idle position values were invalid or out of the expected working range. This prevents the system from learning the correct physical limits of the throttle lever.

   Verify Assembly: Inspect the physical assembly of the hand throttle lever and potentiometer. Ensure the lever moves freely from stop to stop and that the potentiometer is not loose or misaligned.

   Check Power & Ground: Verify that the Armrest Controller is receiving proper power and has a clean, secure ground connection.

   Wiring Inspection: Check the wiring harness between the hand throttle potentiometer and the Armrest Controller for chafing, shorts, or open circuits.

   Recalibrate

   Attempt to run the throttle calibration procedure again. Ensure you firmly hit both the high idle and low idle physical stops so the controller registers valid endpoints.

   Inspect and Adjust

   If calibration fails, disassemble the right-hand console/armrest to access the hand throttle mechanism. Check for broken plastic stops, debris blocking lever travel, or a loose potentiometer mounting bracket.
