9315

Case IH 9315 – Hitch Controller (HITCH) or Armrest Controller (ARM): Invalid Config - Left Draft Pin voltage is not within spec for 'no load' condition.

Issue description

The 'no load' displacement tension or offset voltage of the left-side draft pin (load sensing pin) is registering outside the normal, expected baseline range during calibration or operation.

Applies to these machines

  • MX Magnum
  • STX Steiger
  • Case IH STX & Steiger Series
  • Case IH MX / TG Series
  • Case IH Magnum Series
  • Case IH Puma Series

Check the cause

  1. Verify Tractor Configuration: Check if the tractor is actually equipped with a hitch draft control feature. This code can trigger if the armrest controller was incorrectly calibrated for draft mode on a tractor with only position control.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the left draft pin sensor for damaged wires, shorts to ground/power, or loose/corroded connectors.

  3. Rule out a hitch controller failure by verifying communication with the instrument cluster and checking for other simultaneous hitch fault codes.

Repair steps

  1. Inspect and Repair Wiring

Disconnect the left draft pin connector. Clean the contacts and test the voltage/continuity back to the Hitch/Armrest controller. Repair any broken wires or replace the connector pigtail if damaged.

  2. Reconfigure/Recalibrate (If no draft control is installed)

If the tractor does not have draft control, you must perform the armrest and hitch calibration procedure. Navigate to the ARM HITCH calibration menu. Ensure that the final screen of the calibration menu is set to display "No Draft" (hitch position only mode).

  3. Replace the Sensor (If draft control is installed)

If the tractor is equipped with draft control and the wiring tests good, the left draft pin sensor has internally failed or degraded. Remove the retaining hardware, slide out the faulty left draft pin, and install the new draft pin sensor.

  4. Final Calibration

After replacing the pin or fixing the wiring, you must perform the Hitch Controller Calibration procedure to establish the new 'no load' baseline voltage.
