Case IH 9317 – Hitch Controller: The Hitch Controller Calibration procedure must be performed
Issue description
The hitch controller lacks valid calibration data for the hitch's hydraulic valves and position sensors, and must be recalibrated to function properly.
Applies to these machines
9 machines- MX Magnum
- STX Steiger
- TG210
- TG230
- TG255
- TG285
- STX 280-530
- Steiger 280-535
- Puma 125
Check the cause
Ensure the engine is running and the engine speed signal is functioning (must be set above 1600 RPM during calibration)
Ensure the tractor is parked and completely stationary to prevent the controller from aborting the calibration
Verify that the armrest configuration matches the hitch configuration to avoid mismatch codes
Check for Code 10030 (Controller Memory Error - Loss of hitch calibration data) which indicates internal memory failure
Repair steps
Park the tractor
Park the tractor on a level surface, ensure it is completely stationary, and apply the parking brake.
Start the engine
Start the engine.
Increase throttle
Increase the throttle so that the engine speed is maintained above 1600 RPM.
Access calibration menu
Access the Hitch Calibration menu via the tractor's armrest display or instrument cluster.
Initiate calibration
Initiate the calibration sequence. The controller will automatically cycle the hitch raise and lower valves.
Complete procedure
Allow the procedure to finish without moving the tractor or dropping the engine RPM.
Save and verify
Save the calibration. Cycle the key to verify that code 9317 has cleared and no configuration mismatch codes (like 9319) have appeared.
Parts you might need
