Case IH 9320 – Hitch Controller: Hitch calibration aborted due to tractor movement.
Issue description
During a hitch calibration procedure, the tractor must remain completely stationary. If the system's sensors (wheel speed sensors or radar) detect any vehicle movement while the calibration is in progress, the controller will immediately abort the process and log this fault code.

7 machines- MX Magnum
- STX Steiger
- Case IH MX Magnum Series
- Case IH TG Series
- Case IH Steiger Series
- Case IH Puma Series
- Case IH Maxxum Series
Check the cause
Verify the tractor is parked on a completely flat, level surface and is not rolling or vibrating excessively.
Ensure the parking brake is fully engaged to prevent micro-movements during the calibration process.
Verify the engine is running and set to the correct RPM (often above 1600 RPM) while the tractor remains stationary.
Monitor live data from the Wheel Speed Sensor and Radar Sensor using a diagnostic tool to check for false speed readings (> 0 mph) while parked.
Repair steps
Halt and Secure
Stop the tractor completely. Engage the parking brake and ensure the transmission is in park/neutral.
Set Engine Speed
Start the engine and set the throttle to the specified RPM for calibration (often >1600 RPM depending on the specific valve being calibrated).
Restart Calibration
Re-initiate the hitch calibration sequence via the armrest or dash display.
Diagnose Sensor Circuits
If the calibration aborts again with code 9320, locate the wheel speed sensor and the ground speed radar sensor.
Inspect Wiring
Check the harnesses connecting the speed/radar sensors to the Hitch Controller for chafing, corrosion, or water intrusion that could cause erratic voltage spikes (simulating movement).
Replace Faulty Components
If a sensor is outputting a false speed signal, replace the affected wheel speed sensor or radar unit. If the sensors test fine but the Hitch Controller continues to abort the calibration, the controller itself may have an internal fault requiring replacement or reflashing.
