Case IH 9407 – IC (Instrument Cluster): Memory Error - ID Errors: Unrecoverable Hardware ID

A critical internal failure within the machine's display or control module. The module has run a diagnostic check of its internal ROM/memory and detected that its unique hardware identifier is corrupted and cannot be recovered or repaired by the system.

   Power cycle the machine by turning the ignition off, waiting, and restarting to see if the fault code clears on its own

   Inspect the relevant wiring harnesses and connectors leading to the Instrument Cluster/UCM for physical damage, bent or dislocated pins, corroded terminals, or broken wires

   Ensure that all connectors at the back of the instrument cluster are fully seated and locked

   Flex the harnesses involved near the cluster to reveal any intermittent breaks or shorts in the wiring while monitoring the display or an Electronic Service Tool (EST)

   Replace the Instrument Cluster / UCM

   If the fault code does not clear after verifying the wiring and power cycling the machine, the Instrument Cluster / UCM must be replaced.

   Remove the defective Instrument Cluster

   Remove the defective Instrument Cluster from the cab console/dashboard.

   Install the replacement Instrument Cluster

   Install the replacement Instrument Cluster.

   Program the new Instrument Cluster

   The new Instrument Cluster must be programmed using the dealer Electronic Service Tool (EST) to restore self-learning parameters, machine configuration, and sync the hour meter.
