Case IH A-CORE-001 - Display – Display Core: Display Hi Temp, Backlight Reduction Imminent
Issue description
This fault code indicates that the internal temperature of the display core is higher than normal. To protect the internal components, the display automatically dims its backlight by 50 percent in an effort to reduce power consumption and dissipate heat.
Applies to these machines
9 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- STEIGER AFS Connect
- Magnum
- Steiger
- long-wheelbase Puma
- Optum series
- Axial-Flow 260
- AF series
- Patriot 50 series
Check the cause
Check if the display is mounted in direct sunlight or in an area of high heat without proper ventilation
Ensure the cab's air conditioning and heating systems are functioning correctly to maintain a climate-controlled environment
Inspect the back and sides of the display for dust buildup, debris, or aftermarket mounts/accessories that might be blocking passive cooling vents
Verify that the ambient temperature is within the display's safe operating limits (maximum operating temperature of around +60°C to +70°C)
Repair steps
Cool Down the Cab
Turn on the cab's HVAC system to cool the interior. If the tractor has been sitting in direct sunlight with the engine off, allow the cab to cool down before operating the display at full brightness.
Relocate if Necessary
If the display was moved from its factory position, ensure it is mounted in a shaded area with good ventilation.
Power Cycle
Once the cab is cooled, power down the system, wait for the display to completely shut off, and restart the machine to see if the A-CORE-001 code clears and full backlight brightness is restored.
Replace the Display
If the fault code persists in a cool, climate-controlled cab, the display's internal thermal sensor or core components have likely failed. The AFS Pro 1200 display unit is a sealed component and must be replaced entirely.
