A-G-525 - Display

Case IH A-G-525 - Display – Display / Precision Farming System and Autoguidance Controller: Swath too long

Issue description

The recorded swath or application path exceeds the system's memory or operational limit.

Applies to these machines

  • MAGNUM AFS Connect
  • STEIGER AFS Connect
  • Magnum 400
  • Puma
  • Steiger
  • Combines

Check the cause

  1. Verify the exact fault code on the display (A-G-525 indicates 'Swath too long', while A-G-535 indicates 'No Swath')

  2. Navigate to the Guidance or Setup screen on the AFS display to ensure a swath is selected and activated

  3. Verify the vehicle is physically positioned within ½ of the swath width to detect the swath

  4. Check the GPS Status and GPS Receiver screens to ensure a clear view of the sky and a valid DGPS correction type (e.g., RTK, WAAS/EGNOS)

  5. Inspect the wiring integrity between the GPS receiver and the NAV controller if the system repeatedly drops the swath

Repair steps

  1. Navigate to Guidance or Setup menu

On the AFS display Home screen, navigate to the Guidance or Setup menu.

  2. Select a recorded swath

If no swath is active, select a previously recorded swath for the field.

  3. Create a new swath pattern

If the swath is too long (A-G-525) or cannot be calculated, create a new swath pattern. Avoid backing up or driving irregularly in corners while recording.

  4. Drive closer to target swath

Drive the vehicle closer to the target swath. The lightbar will display a colored arrow indicating the direction the steering wheel must be turned to align with the target swath.

  5. Engage Autoguidance

Once the vehicle is within ½ the swath width and the GPS signal is converged, engage the Autoguidance switch.

  6. Perform software version check

If the display still reads 'No Swath,' perform a software version check and consult a Case IH dealer to verify if an AFS firmware update is required.
