Case IH A-G-625 - Display – Navigation Controller: Display Stuck on "System Initializing"
Issue description
The display message "System Initializing" indicates that the system is in the process of initializing or converging GPS/RTK signals. If the display hangs or gets stuck on this screen, it indicates a communication or signal failure.
Applies to these machines
5 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- STEIGER AFS Connect
- Magnum tractors
- Steiger tractors
- Axial-Flow combines
Check the cause
Clear Line of Sight: Move the tractor or combine out of any buildings or away from heavy tree cover to ensure the GPS receiver has an unobstructed view of the sky.
Check RTK/Cellular Connections: Verify that the RTK radio or cellular modem has an active subscription and is receiving a signal.
Harness & Connection Inspection: Check the physical Ethernet and CAN bus connections between the AFS display, the Nav Controller, and the GPS receiver dome on the roof.
Power Cycle: Perform a hard key-off, wait for the system to power down completely, and key-on to force a fresh initialization sequence.
Repair steps
Inspect
Inspect the GPS receiver antenna cable for pinches, corrosion, or damage.
Test
Test the voltage and ground at the receiver harness to ensure the antenna is receiving power.
Connect
If the wiring is intact but the system will not initialize in an open field, connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to check for underlying communication faults (such as NAV or other AG codes).
Reflash
Reflash or update the display and Nav Controller firmware using the EST, as software corruption can cause the initialization sequence to hang.
Replace
If the receiver is internally faulted and cannot converge a signal, replace the GPS receiver/antenna dome.
