A-G-700 - Display

Case IH A-G-700 - Display – Display: Calibrate Wheel Angle Sensor

Issue description

Wheel Angle Sensor (WAS) calibration is incomplete, missing, or has failed, which disables the tractor's Autoguidance / Auto-Guide system.

Applies to these machines

  • MAGNUM AFS Connect
  • STEIGER AFS Connect
  • Case IH Magnum AFS Connect
  • Case IH Patriot sprayers
  • Case IH Trident 5550
  • Other Case IH / New Holland tractors equipped with AFS Pro 700 / AFS Pro 1200 displays and AccuGuide/IntelliSteer

Check the cause

  1. Check the harness connection to the steering wheel angle sensor to ensure it is not an open circuit or shorted to ground

  2. Verify that the sensor supply voltage for the wheel angle position sensor is not out of range (too high or too low)

  3. Ensure the steering valve is enabled in the system menus

  4. Verify that the hydraulic oil temperature is above 5 °C (41 °F) before attempting calibration

Repair steps

  1. Dynamic Calibration (Moving)

Ensure the machine is in a safe, open area. The machine must remain moving during this calibration.

  2. Dynamic Calibration (Moving)

    Drive forward at a speed between 2 – 6 km/h (1 – 4 mph).

  3. Dynamic Calibration (Moving)

Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left-hand steering lock.

  4. Dynamic Calibration (Moving)

On the display, press the “Left” box to set the left-hand WAS value.

  5. Dynamic Calibration (Moving)

Do not turn the steering wheel until the WAS screen advances to the "Center WAS" setting.

  6. Dynamic Calibration (Moving)

Follow the on-screen prompts to record the center and right-hand steering lock values to complete the calibration.

  7. Stationary Calibration (RS1 / Autoguidance Kits)

    Apply the park brake.

  8. Stationary Calibration (RS1 / Autoguidance Kits)

Verify that the oil temperature is above 5 °C (41 °F).

  9. Stationary Calibration (RS1 / Autoguidance Kits)

To access the calibration mode, keep the Autoguidance system switch pressed, then switch the ignition on and start the vehicle.

  10. Stationary Calibration (RS1 / Autoguidance Kits)

Follow the display prompts to record the Right (RIHt), Left (LEFt), and Straight ahead (ntrL) positions until the screen displays "Calibration OK (PASS)".
