Case IH A-PF-174 - Display – AFS Pro 1200 Display: Prescription size exceeds limit
Issue description
The variable-rate prescription (Rx) file being imported into the display exceeds the maximum file size allowed by the system's memory or processing limits. Because the file is too large, the display cannot load or process the application map.
Applies to these machines
8 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- STEIGER AFS Connect
- AFS Connect Magnum tractors
- AFS Connect Steiger tractors
- AFS Connect Optum tractors
- Long-wheelbase Puma tractors
- Axial-Flow 260 and AF series combines
- Patriot 50 series sprayers
Check the cause
Check the size of the prescription shapefile (.shp, .shx, .dbf) on your USB drive or within the AFS Connect portal
Verify file complexity, as extremely complex maps with thousands of micro-zones or highly detailed polygons often cause file sizes to balloon beyond processing capabilities
Check the storage drive to ensure the USB drive is functioning properly and hasn't triggered secondary data management faults (such as A-PF-170 'Destination Drive Full' or A-PF-172 'Source Drive Removed')
Repair steps
Remove the Media
Remove the USB drive from the AFS Pro 1200 display, or log into your AFS Connect portal on your computer.
Open the Prescription
Open the original prescription file in your desktop farm management software (e.g., AFS Mapping & Records, SMS, etc.).
Decrease the File Size
Decrease prescription file size by reducing the number of management zones, smoothing or simplifying the polygon edges to reduce data points, or splitting a massive multi-field prescription into individual, field-specific prescription files.
Export the File
Export the newly optimized prescription shapefile back to the USB drive or push it wirelessly via the AFS Connect portal.
Re-Import
Insert the USB drive back into the AFS Pro 1200 display and attempt the data import process again.
