Case IH F-100-01 - ECU – ECU: Oil pressure sensor voltage is higher than expected

Indicates an issue with the engine oil pressure sensor's electrical circuit, indicating either a faulty sensor, a wiring harness short/open, or an external power interference.

   Check if the tractor battery power supply has been connected to an external power supply (like a jump starter or external charger). If connected, disconnect it and test the system for normal operation, as this can cause voltage spikes.

   Visually inspect the relevant engine harnesses and the oil pressure sensor connector for damage, bent or dislocated pins, corroded terminals, or broken wires.

   Verify that the connectors are fully seated and installed. Flex the harnesses involved while monitoring the sensor voltage to reveal any intermittent wiring issues (shorts or opens).

   Check the module for the appropriate software version and re-flash the ECU if necessary before condemning the sensor.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery ground cable to prevent accidental electrical shorts during repair.

   Locate the Sensor

   Locate the engine oil pressure sensor on the engine block (typically near the oil filter housing or main oil gallery).

   Disconnect

   Depress the locking tab and disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector from the sensor.

   Remove

   Using an appropriately sized deep socket or wrench, carefully unthread the faulty oil pressure sensor from the engine block. Have a rag ready to catch any residual oil.

   Install

   Thread the new oil pressure sensor into the port by hand to prevent cross-threading, then tighten to the OEM torque specification.

   Reconnect

   Reconnect the electrical harness connector, ensuring the locking tab clicks into place.

   Test

   Reconnect the battery. Start the engine and monitor the dash display or use the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to ensure the oil pressure reads normally and the F-100-01 code does not return. Check the sensor area for any oil leaks.
