Case IH F-110-00 - ECU – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Engine coolant temperature has exceeded the warning threshold
Issue description
The engine is experiencing an overheating condition, or the sensor is falsely reporting an overheating condition due to a malfunction or electrical short.
Applies to these machines

Check the cause
Verify the engine coolant level in the reservoir and radiator (low coolant is the most common cause of actual overheating)
Inspect the radiator, intercooler, and cooling screens for blockages caused by chaff, dirt, or field debris
Ensure the cooling fan is engaging properly by checking fan speed signals and belts
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the coolant temperature sensor for rubbed wires, shorts to the battery, or disconnected plugs
Use a multimeter to check the resistance of the coolant temperature sensor against OEM specifications to determine if it is out of range
Repair steps
Clean the Cooling System
If the radiator is plugged, use compressed air or a pressure washer (carefully, to avoid bending fins) to blow out chaff and dirt from the cooling package.
Top Off Fluids
If the coolant is low, inspect for leaks (hoses, water pump, radiator core). Repair any leaks and top off the system with the correct Case IH specified coolant.
Replace the Sensor
Ensure the engine is completely cool and the system is depressurized. Locate the coolant temperature sensor on the engine block/thermostat housing. Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the sensor. Unscrew the old sensor. Have the new sensor ready to thread in quickly to minimize coolant loss. Install the new sensor and tighten to OEM torque specs. Reconnect the electrical harness.
Clear Codes and Test
Top off any lost coolant, start the machine, and use a diagnostic tool to clear the F-110-00 code. Run the machine under load to verify the temperature holds steady in the normal range.
