F-1127-00 - ECU

Case IH F-1127-00 - ECU – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Over boost failure

Issue description

The turbocharger control system has detected that the intake manifold boost pressure has exceeded the maximum safe threshold programmed into the engine's control parameters.

Applies to these machines

  • MAGNUM AFS Connect
  • Austoft 9900 sugarcane harvester

Check the cause

  1. Verify the boost pressure sensor's voltage readings using a diagnostic tool. Check for erratic data, a short circuit to a high voltage source, or physical clogging of the sensor tip.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness connecting the boost pressure sensor to the ECU for shorts to the battery, shorts to ground, or open circuits.

  3. Inspect the Pulse Width Modulation (P.W.M.) control valve and the mechanical wastegate actuator. A stuck-closed wastegate or a failing P.W.M. valve will prevent the system from venting excess exhaust gas.

  4. Verify that there are no internal ECU calibration errors or torque comparison faults causing false pressure readings.

Repair steps

  1. Connect Diagnostic Equipment

Hook up the Case IH diagnostic tool to monitor real-time intake manifold pressure.

  2. Inspect and Clean

Locate the boost pressure sensor on the intake manifold. Remove it and inspect for soot or carbon buildup. Clean if necessary and reinstall to see if the fault clears.

  3. Test the Sensor and Wiring

If the code persists, test the sensor's reference voltage and signal return. If the wiring is intact but the sensor reads out of range (indicating pressure is higher than expected even when the engine is off or at low idle), replace the boost pressure sensor.

  4. Inspect the Wastegate Actuator

If the sensor is functioning correctly, physically inspect the turbocharger wastegate linkage. Disconnect the linkage and ensure the wastegate flap moves freely.

  5. Replace the P.W.M. Valve

If the mechanical wastegate is free but the system still overboosts under load, replace the P.W.M. turbocharger control valve.

  6. Clear Codes and Test

Clear the F-1127-00 code from the ECU and perform a test run under load to ensure boost pressure remains within the normal operating threshold.
