Case IH F-3509-16 - CGR – CGR: Receiver Supply Voltage

The system has detected an irregularity (likely out of range, too high, or too low) in the supply voltage being delivered to the GNSS/GPS receiver on the roof of the machine.

   Check Battery and Alternator Voltage: Ensure the machine's base system voltage is stable (typically 12V-14V) and not experiencing spikes or drops.

   Inspect the CGR Serial Interface Cable: Check the cable running from the cab roof harness to the CGR receiver for pinches, rodent damage, or weather degradation.

   Test Connector Pins: Disconnect the CGR receiver and use a multimeter to verify the supply voltage at the harness connector. Compare the reading against the machine's system voltage.

   Check Fuses/Relays: Verify the specific fuse providing power to the roof modules/telematics system is intact and seated properly.

   Software Verification: Check if the CGR software is up to date (e.g., version 1.0.0.0, 1.1.0.0, or higher, depending on the tractor's build) as voltage threshold logic can sometimes be updated via firmware.

   Power Down

   Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery disconnect switch to prevent electrical shorts.

   Access the Receiver

   Safely access the cab roof where the CGR antenna/receiver is mounted.

   Harness Repair/Replacement

   If the diagnostic tests revealed a voltage drop or open circuit in the wiring, replace the CGR Serial Interface Cable. Route the new cable securely, avoiding pinch points.

   Receiver Replacement

   If the harness provides the correct voltage but the F-3509-16 code remains active (indicating an internal hardware failure within the receiver's power circuit), unbolt the CGR receiver from its mounting bracket (e.g., PF81190 adapter) and install a new unit.

   Re-calibration

   Reconnect the battery, power on the AFS Pro 1200 display, and verify the CGR is communicating. You may need to re-enter RTK radio settings or vehicle offsets if a new receiver was installed.
