Case IH F-518149-31 - ECU – Engine Control Unit (ECU): ECU internal failure - Fuel injection correction has exceeded a minimum limit

The ECU monitors the Zero Fuel Calibration (ZFC) energizing time to correct the pilot injection quantity. If the ECU determines that the energizing time required for the ZFC is implausible or has exceeded its minimum allowable limit, it triggers this fault.

   Verify if the fault is currently active or stored as a historic code

   Check for air ingress in the fuel supply to rule out physical fuel delivery issues

   Verify fuel pressure at low and high idle

   Ensure the fuel pre-filter is not restricted

   Inspect the wiring harnesses and connectors going to the A-9000 ECU and the fuel injectors for shorts, high resistance, or damage

   Reprogram the ECU

   Connect the OEM diagnostic tool (EST) and attempt to flash/update the ECU (EDC) software with the proper, most up-to-date dataset.

   Re-test

   Cycle the key and run the engine to see if the ZFC calibration error returns.

   Replace the ECU

   If the F-518149-31 error occurs repeatedly and remains active after a successful software flash, the ECU has suffered an internal calibration failure and must be replaced.
