Case IH F-518162-31 - ECU – Engine Control Unit (ECU / ECM): ECU Internal failure - Injector energizing time fault

The injector energization time has exceeded the specified threshold due to an overrun condition or a poor coding data setting. It is an internal diagnostic fault check triggered when the engine output limit (fuel injection amount or torque limit) is applied.

   Clear the memory and test drive to see if the error reappears.

   Verify injector coding data settings to ensure they are properly programmed into the ECU.

   Check for a hard internal ECU failure if the error reappears in a short time.

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the electronic diagnostic tool (e.g., Case IH EST) to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Clear fault codes

   Clear the active and inactive fault codes from the ECU memory.

   Perform test run

   Perform a test run of the machine under load to see if the code returns.

   Verify and reprogram injector coding

   If the code returns, navigate to the injector programming menu and verify that the injector calibration codes match the physical injectors installed in the engine. Reprogram if necessary.

   Contact Helpdesk and replace ECU

   If the injector coding is correct and the code persists, contact Helpdesk. The ECU has suffered an internal hardware/chip failure regarding injector actuation and must be replaced.

   Install and flash new ECU

   Install the new ECU and flash it with the correct machine software and injector trim codes.
