Case IH F-520444-31 - CGR – CGR (CNH GNSS/Guidance Receiver): Software Upgrade Failure

The display was attempting to flash or export software to the receiver, but communication with the receiver was lost mid-transfer (Destination unit removed).

   Verify Physical Connections: Check the physical connection between the AFS Pro 1200 Display and the CGR (Vector Pro receiver).

   Inspect the Harness: Inspect the CGR Serial Interface Cable for breaks, corrosion, or loose pins.

   Check Diagnostic Tooling: Ensure your Electronic Service Tool (EST) is fully updated (e.g., EST 8.6.0.0 Update 2 or newer) and use the correct Type 2 (Green) diagnostic connector.

   Voltage Drop Test: Ensure stable battery voltage to the cab and receiver.

   Secure the Connection

   Reconnect or secure the wiring harness at the roof receiver and the back of the display to ensure the "destination unit" is securely present on the network.

   Replace Faulty Wiring

   If continuity tests fail between the display and the receiver, replace the CGR Serial Interface Cable.

   Re-attempt the Flash

   Re-attempt the software upgrade using the EST or via a USB drive through the Display's "Data Management" screen. Ensure the machine remains running or on a stable battery maintainer, and do not unplug the receiver during the export.

   Module Replacement

   If the receiver's internal memory was permanently corrupted by the interrupted flash (bricked) and it will no longer accept a software push, the CGR module must be replaced and reprogrammed.
