Case IH F-522807-31 - CGR – CGR: Product Identification Number Access Failure

The module is unable to read, verify, or access the machine's programmed serial number (PIN) or its own internal identification/unlock data. This data is required to authenticate the hardware and authorize GNSS/guidance features.

   Check the AFS Pro 1200 display for related hardware or memory failure faults (e.g., 522808-12, 522809-12, 2858-14).

   Verify receiver supply voltage and inspect the CGR wiring harness on the cab roof.

   Check the RS232 communication port (Port B) and GPS antenna port (Port A) for moisture, corrosion, or backed-out pins.

   Perform a CAN communication check using the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) with the Type 2 (Green) diagnostic connector to verify the CGR is communicating properly.

   Power Cycle

   Perform a complete key-off power cycle of the tractor. Allow the AFS Pro 1200 display and the CGR module to completely power down and reboot to see if the serial number access is restored upon initialization.

   Harness Inspection

   Access the CGR module on the roof. Disconnect the harness, clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner, apply dielectric grease, and reconnect.

   Software Update / Reflash

   Using the CNH EST and a DPA5 adapter (with the green Type 2 cable), check the CGR software version. Reflash the CGR to the latest software version (e.g., updating to v1.1.0.0 or newer) to clear potential software corruption.

   Re-enter PIN/Unlocks

   If the software update is successful but the code persists, use the EST to manually verify and re-push the machine's Product Identification Number (PIN) and GNSS unlock codes to the receiver.

   Module Replacement

   If the CGR will not accept the software flash, or if the code remains active alongside EEPROM/NV memory faults, the internal memory of the receiver has failed. The CGR module must be replaced and programmed to the tractor.
