Case IH F-522819-12 - CGR – CGR: Internal Receiver IO Fault
Issue description
This indicates an internal Input/Output (IO) hardware or communication failure within the GNSS receiver itself. The receiver is unable to process internal signals correctly, which will likely result in a loss of GPS/RTK accuracy, auto-guidance dropouts, or complete loss of communication with the cab display.
Applies to these machines
5 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- STEIGER AFS Connect
- Magnum AFS Connect series (Models 180, 200, 220, 240, 250, 280, 310, 340, 380, 400)
- Steiger / Quadtrac AFS Connect series
- Other Case IH / CNH machines equipped with the AFS Vector Pro receiver
Check the cause
Inspect the CGR serial interface cable connecting the receiver to the cab roof harness for corrosion, moisture intrusion, or bent pins. Verify clean, stable supply voltage.
Check the CGR software version via the AFS Pro 1200 display. Ensure the receiver firmware is up to date (e.g., software version 1.1.0.0 or higher) to rule out corrupted internal memory/IO logic.
Clear the fault code, perform a complete key-off power cycle (wait for the battery disconnect relay to click off), and restart the machine. If the code returns immediately, the receiver's internal circuitry has failed.
Repair steps
Park the machine on a level surface, power down the engine, and turn off the master battery disconnect switch.
Access the cab roof and locate the AFS Vector Pro receiver.
Disconnect the CGR serial interface cable from the back of the receiver.
Unbolt the receiver from the GPS mounting plate.
Install the replacement AFS Vector Pro receiver onto the mounting bracket and secure the hardware.
Reconnect the serial interface cable.
Power on the tractor and allow the AFS Pro 1200 display to boot up.
Navigate to the guidance setup screens to verify the new receiver is communicating.
You will need to input any necessary RTK unlock codes if they did not transfer automatically.
Perform a Roll Calibration (pass-to-pass accuracy calibration) for the new receiver to ensure the AccuGuide auto-steer functions correctly.
