Case IH F-5357-02 - ECU – Engine Electronic Control Unit (ECU A-095): ECU internal failure - Fuel calibration

This fault indicates an internal calibration error within the engine controller. The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) monitors the conversion from fuel quantity to torque for consistency during its initialization phase. If an implausibility or calibration error is detected during this self-test, the fault code is logged.

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to verify if the fault code is currently active. If inactive, the issue may be intermittent.

   Inspect the wiring harnesses and connectors leading to ECU A-095. Look for damaged, bent, or pushed-back pins, corroded terminals, or chafed/broken wires. Ensure all connectors are fully seated and locked.

   Use the EST to check the current software version on the Engine ECU to determine if a newer, corrective software flash is available.

   Re-flash the ECU

   Connect the EST and re-flash ECU A-095 with the latest appropriate software.

   Verify Resolution

   Cycle the machine's key and re-check for active fault codes. If the fault is resolved, return the machine to service.

   Replace the ECU

   If the ECU fails to accept the software flash, or if the fault persists after a successful update, the internal failure is hard-set and ECU A-095 must be replaced.

   Restore Parameters

   After installing a new or remanufactured Engine ECU, you must use the EST to restore the engine's self-learning parameters and perform the Zero Fuel Calibration procedure so the new module syncs with the injectors.
